Joe Thambu Shihan: February 2023 Aiki-Budo Seminar

We are pleased to announce that Joe Thambu Shihan (8th Dan), the Shuseki Shihan of Aikido Shudokan International will be conducting a two (2) day seminar in Singapore from Saturday, 18 February 2023 to Sunday, 19 February 2023.

Each day will consist of two (2) sessions which are available at the rate of S$30/- per session, S$50/- for the full day, or $80/- for 2 full day sessions, at your election:- 

Morning Session: 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Afternoon Session: 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This is great opportunity to for non-aikido practitioners to experience Aikido through the Aiki Budo sessions, as well as the practical side of Aikido through the Restraint & Removal sessions. Phase 2: Dojo Reopening!

It's official! With Phase Two unlocked, the dojo is set to reopen and bring members back on the mats in a socially responsible and compliant manner.

Among some of the precautions in place will be small groups, minimal contact and above all a sense of responsibility and community to keep all of us safe.

We are currently only offering Adult classes, and as the number of people on the mats at any one time must be limited, we have revised our timings and put in place an online booking system. Please navigate to our Schedule Page for more information on the new timings as well as for access to the booking system.

Concluding the Two Shihans Special Class

With the two-day special class in Singapore led by Robert Mustard Shihan and Joe Thambu Shihan on the 25th and 26th of November concluded, we would like to take this opportunity to thank both Shihans for taking the time to include Singapore as part of their busy schedules. Undoubtedly some of the finest instructors that Aikido has ever seen, we are grateful and humbled to have had this opportunity to receive instruction from them, both on and off the mats.

From the group of us from Aikido Shudokan Singapore who were present in the seminar in KL over the weekend on the 23rd and 24th of November, we would like to express our gratitude to Ramlan Ortega Shihan and Emma Idzura Sensei, as well as our family from Aikido Shudokan Malaysia for taking such great care of us.

Special thanks to Ondra Musil Shihan for supporting us in Singapore for the special class, and our brothers from Aikikai for joining us in the spirit of learning.
